(Note: This page has been shortened and summarized. I hope that this makes it a faster and simpler read for everyone yet still provides sufficient information about me. Thank you for your interest in me and my work.)

My name is Michael Andrew Hildreth. I was born and raised in southern California. I want to briefly write about my history so you can be more familiar with me and my work.

I am from Escondido, California (San Diego County, North).

My parents divorced when I was very young and my Father later moved to Texas to pursue his career as an Aeronautical Engineer. My Mother also has worked in Aeronautics for many years, in California. I grew up attending a church of Christ with my Mother. I was sent to a Lutheran elementary school and later to a “Christian” high school associated with churches of Christ (instrumental). I later graduated from Escondido Charter High School.

I became a Christian when I was 14. I was raised up in a “liberal/progressive” church of Christ but I later decided to attend a congregation that I believed to be more faithful to the teachings of the Bible. After my baptism, I studied the Bible voraciously and constantly taught and debated others about the truth.

After graduating from high school, I went to Bremen, Germany to be involved in the “Let’s Start Talking” Bible program for two months.

I went back and forth from deciding to be a full time preacher or studying and working a secular job. After many discouragements to preach from others, I decided to study the Bible and preach the Gospel full time (at this time I was Living in Ft. Worth, Texas). It took me some time to finally decide that I would study at a Bible college and stop listening to others.

I started classes, part time, at the Brown Trail School of Preaching. After a short while there I moved to the Philippines and I married the most beautiful woman in the world; Myla.

Myla and I lived in Baguio City where I studied for 2 years and finished my Associate in Theology at the Philippine Bible College and also taught/preached part time in Tarlac and Pangasinan provinces.

I intend to continue my formal study of God’s Word in the U.S. and preach the Gospel anywhere in the world.

This website, CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH, is an extension of my work as a Gospel Preacher. Please let me know if I can help you in any way. Thank you for reading and may God bless us all.
